Just ten minutes into the event – and it is firework right away! With Andrew Black in the big blind, Juha Hellpi made it 9K to go. His neighbor Tor Gammelgard then moved all-in to 41.5K total. In the big blind, Andrew had two nines and decided to call a total of 27K all-in, knowing very well that a) there was a lot of value and b) that Tor didn’t need to have a huge hand in this spot. Juha obviously knew all of this as well, and after very long deliberation he decided that his QQ was good. It was: Tor had been making a move with A 2. So, in a three-way pot the sympathetic Juha was a clear favorite to win – but that is not the same as actually winning. In the end, with a final board K8TJ6, his queens held up, and he now has well over 100K in chips, having busted two players in one hand.

Juha Helppi, 228K (who just told me about a kind of great play he made a while ago. Holding 99, he was faced with a raise and was contemplating what do do. When he got his opponent talking, this person started yapping something like “I have a beautiful hand, really beautiful.” Juha deduced that we was probably up against queens, and called with his nines. Then, when an ace came on the flop, Juha bet out and his opponent folded, indeed showing his queens. Juha then showed his nines – and his opponent went crazy. On the immediate next hand his opponent didn’t even look at his cards anymore – he was so mad that he folded without looking.)

At the same time, Tim Anders has doubled up. Going all-in for 118,000 with ace-king, he got called by Juha with queens. A king on the board doubled up the man from Vegas, and leaves Juha in desperate need of chips. The Fin has just about 32,000 left now.

Juha is back in action! First, he called all-in with KJ against Roland’s raise. Roland had a queen-five, and when the Fin caught both a king and a jack, he was back at 84K. And the immediate next hand, he won again! Roland raised from the button, with a K3 this time, and Juha simply stuck in all the money with big slick. No surprises, and the strong Juha is back in contention.

Helppi floppasi kasiparilla korkeimman setin ja vastustajan syöksyessä alliniin ainoastaan Big Slickillä, Juhalle yli puolen miljoonan potti! Hyvähyvä. 8)

We have lost our second American! Curt Kohlberg came over the top of Juha’s raise with an AQ for about 275K total. Juha had 77 and found a seven on the turn to make a full house. The Fin now has about 1 million in chips, and is the big stack together with Roland. Both Michel & Tim have fairly small stacks, and need to double up quickly. Tim is the last remaining American out of the three that started this final.

Tuolta ylimmästä viestistähän löytyy kyseiseen seurantaan linkki, päivää saattaa mahdollisesti joutua vaihtamaan, mutta kyllä se sieltä jostain löytyy. 😆

Anyway, we are down to three-handed, and things now look like this:

    Roland 1,180,000
    Juha 850,000
    Michel 370,000

    …..
Two players left, both with over a million in front of them – meaning we are in for a highly interesting final.

Michel is out! When he once again raised all-in, this time to 340K with an AJ, Juha quickly called from the big blind with the A Q. And while Juha was too scared to watch the table and started looking out of the window instead, an ace flopped – and Juha’s better kicker played. Two players left, Juha having a 2-to-1 chip lead: I guess we are in for a highly interesting final.

    Niinhän siinä sitten kävi, että:

And just one or two hands later, it was actually over! Juha was now the shortest stack, moved all-in with a QJ, and got called by Roland’s A8. Roland was in front, and actually managed to make a straight to win this event. So, the heads up lasted just a couple of hands, but it was exciting that’s for sure.

Mutta hatun noston arvoinen suoritus kyllä!!! Kiva nähdä kuinka suoritusta tullaan uutisoimaan. (ja kai se 2. sijakin jotain maksaa:)
